King for a Day: The $5,000,000 Deal

Welcome to a new Tacoma Sun column called King for a Day. The column where you take on important decisions facing the city.

 

Here’s today’s situation: You’re the king of the city. The city is strapped for cash and has an airport it doesn’t know what to do with. Should you sell it? And if so, for how much? On September 16, 2008, our city council and mayor will have to decide exactly this.

 

Here is the text of the resolution:
Authorizing the execution of a purchase and sale agreement with Pierce County and the Peninsula Metropolitan Park District, in the amount of $5,000,000, for the Tacoma Narrows Airport and all associated real, intangible and personal properties.

    Yes, sell the airport. Its useless to the function of the city.

    The “Tac” in Sea-Tac means Tacoma.

    Selling it is probably a smart move, but 5M doesn’t seem like very much for that much property, especially considering how accessible it is.

    For some perspective, isn’t the Winthrop’s valuation a little over $5M? Location plays a key role, as does a historic building, but even accounting for that it doesn’t seem to add up…

    Land Acres: 359.08 (15,641,524 square feet)

    The city also owns several hundred more acres adjacent to the airport.

    Sep27 I think the film protest is very much like the Dutch caradtoon inciaddent, in that only a small someadthing is neeedd to provoke. On the one hand, the deaths are comadpletely caladlous and fooladish — the vioadlence has become far more damned than the proadducer of the movie. To read of Pakadistani chiladdren citading anti-American speech leaves me in horadror. Is this what today’s leadaders (not just in govadernadments, but among mothaders and fathers) want to fosadter, a new genaderadaadtion of hatred?Still, on the other hand, I wonadder how non-Muslims will change their peradcepadtion. It would be for the worse if Islam becomes even more negadaadtive in the views of the outadside comadmuadnity. After all, hatred will only beget hatred, don’t you think? I hope at least a few peoadple will come to their senses abouta0this.

    Well, as far as the home prego test they usually don’t tell you that your prego by mistake when they are broken or a dud its usually the other way around, they tell ur not then you are. But the bleeding and stuff, honestly I think you need to speak with a doctor cause this sounds like a small chance of an early miscarriage. I’m not a doctor so I don;’t want to be the person to give you such sad news, but your really need to speak with a doctor asap. I’m sorry, and I hope everything is okay!
